She and TLC parted company two years ago. Since then, she has played in "Chicago" on Broadway, toured the country in "Sweet Charity" and performed a cabaret act.

"I'm excited to hit the road again and return to the show that put home improvement, and TLC, on the map," Davis said in a release. "We're ready to tear down ceiling fans and rip out paneling in homes across America!"

TLC certainly sounded relieved.

The new season begins shooting this month and will be filmed entirely in high-definition. Designers Doug Wilson, Laurie Hickson-Smith, Frank Bielec and Hildi Santo-Thomas will also return to the show, alongside carpenters and other designers to be announced later.
