Aqua Dots Recall, Bindeez Recall: Contains 'Date Rape' Drug

A voluntary recall has been announced over the 'Aqua Dots' toys and Bindeez toys, which could contain a date-rape drug.

Following yesterday’s announcement that original Aqua Dots manufacturer Moose Enterprises was recalling its line in Australia, Spin Master is requesting retailers in North America remove Aqua Dots products from their shelves.

This week Moose recalled its version of Aqua Dots - marketed in Australia as Bindeez - because of concerns over the chemical reaction that takes place if the craft kits’ beads are swallowed. According to the company, tests showed that some batches of beads were not produced according to its approved formula.

Moose declined to name the manufacturer but said the beads contained an adhesive solvent called "1,4 butylene glycol," which can simulate the drug gamma hydroxyl butyrate when ingested, causing seizures, coma or death. The toy hasn't been linked to any deaths.

In the U.S., Aqua Dots had been available at Toys "R" Us stores since May, according to a spokeswoman. When the company learned of problems with the Bindeez brand, it pulled Aqua Dots from its North American shelves. Aqua Dots is also sold at retailers including Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Target Corp., and as of Wednesday morning it was still available in Wal-Mart, Target and eToys online stores, though it isn't clear whether that version poses any danger.

Spin Master said in a statement today that it is “working diligently to identify any shipments that could potentially be included in a recall by the CPSC and Canadian officials.” The company has not announced the number of Aqua Dots kits and refill sets affected by the recall.

According to Fox News, the Aqua Dots toys have not been recalled in the US yet.

I love how they focus on this stuff and lead paint on toys. Yet, American vaccine makers put mercury (thimerosal) in vaccines and shots, which is one of the biggest neurotoxins in the world.

Thank God for the American media to set the truth straight!
