New plans for border security.

The European Union has instructed member countries to tighten border security.  The new policies will include fingerprinting and screening of all visitors, including Americans, to European countries and will cost several billion dollars.

Nicolas Sarkozy has taken over the leadership position of the EU on the first of July and is making "border management" and immigration policies some of  his top priorities.

Satellite tracking will be used to monitor "illegal immigrants" and many believe privacy and human rights abuses could result.

Immigration will be one of Sarkozy's main policy issues during his six-months at the helm of the EU's rotating presidency.

Good work.

Good Subject, I surprised though that Europe is going that way! Finger Printing? Japan, the USA and Canada have already implemented those rules and they are ridiculous!

True, I guess with the current events and the global situations, immigration will always be an important file to handle for each leader and government. It will be interesting to see how each handles it.
